Speed - Around mid teens
GT400 boats all share the same hull but have a number of different
tops. The rules of the class state that they must all use the standard
Graupner 400 drop-in system and 6 x Sub C cells. I thought that
the extra weight of the cells would make these boats slow but performance
is similar to my Suvette.
The boats are designed and moulded by George Turner who is a member
of the Southend Club where the boats are raced. The boats are very
closely matched which results in some quite exciting racing where
the deciding factor is the skill of the driver. I have also helped
my son build another GT400 as this is an Ideal introductory class
for fast electric racing.
