 GTM "Snark" Hydro
 Special Notes

Hull - GTM Snark 2 Hydro
Motor - Graupner 480 Race
Speed Control - Dymond 20 Amp
Cells - 7 x CP1300
Hardware - Astec ECO shaft and coupling, Graupner rudder.
Prop - Graupner 29mm Carbon Fibre
Hull Length -14 inches
Hull Width - 7 inches
Weight - 650g
Speed - I guess in the mid to high 20s.

This boat was not an easy build. I added a thin ride plate to the underside of each sponson and the central section of the hull. The motor is mounted on a slide mechanism so that it can slide out from under the cockpit for easy maintenance.

So far I have only tested the boat once on my local boating pond when it was covered in floating leaves. I could only manage a lap or two before having to clear tangled dead leaves from the hardware and prop. I was quite shocked by the speed of this boat compared to the 400 monos that I normally run. Handling was another issue (I needed a lake and a half to turn at full speed) so it looks like a larger turn fin and rudder may be required.

When static in the water the boat only just floats. Careful repositioning of the cells may help but I am considering running it on just 6 cells. I am looking forward to running this boat again when the weather improves.

Best wishes for New Year
