*** Update - 1/5/03 ***
Hi Trent, I thought I would send you an update on the Suvette. I have been playing around with the Suvette for about a year and have now made a few changes. I started off by experimenting with some different power packs. Here are the results:-

7 x Sanyo 600AE - 120g - Good performance duration about 5 mins

7 x GP1300 NiMh AA - 190g - Initially not as good as 600AE but are improving with use and now produce similar performance - 11 minutes run time. Motor was very hot after use when not water cooled.

7 x Irvine 800 NiMh - 120g - Same size as 600AE, boat is slightly slower but cells last about 8 minutes.

7 x C Sanyo CP1300 - 220g - Similar performance to 600AE but burnt out the non-watercooled motor after about 10 minutes .

I have now replaced the motor with a Lightspeed 400 and added water cooling. I think the motor is the 7.2v version because performance is not quite as good as the original 6v Graupner 400. The rudder has also been trimmed to reduce drag. I am going to replace this motor with a Jamara 480 (which is not a true 480 but a long can 400 motor).

Best wishes for New Year
