 Special Notes

Hi Trent, I have been following this site and RRR site. and got the bug for micro boats I have attached a pic of my first attempt, it's a slightly modified version of the one from this site submitted by Walter Geens and was wonder ing if it is good enough to be listed here, if it is let me know and I'll fill in the info. I didn't see a link to put some thing on only to look at whats there. I tried to keep the weight down cause I didn't know what to expect but with the 6 cell battery pack it tips my scale at 17.7 ozs. don't know how it runs yet haven't had a chance to try it.

The hull is the one that Walter Geens submitted in your plans section, its not exact I forgot to allow for the thickness of the plywood when I made the foam sponsons and I made them 1/4" too tall. thats where the flat deck came in. , the cowl is made from a piece of plastic off a carded replacement battery. It looked like the right size so I tried it, didn't look bad and it's a little different. I wanted to keep it lite so the bottom of the hull , sponsons and transom are all thats plywood the rest is 1/16" balsa. it came out a total of 14-1/4" long and 7" wide and total weight with a 6 cell battery pack is 17.7 ozs. the motor is a speed400 and the ESC is a Castle Creation Pegasus 35, I have a 6 and 7 cell battery pack of 1300 NIMH batteries. the hardware is a variety, I made some, salvaged some and some is Warehouse Hobbies stuff. the prop is Octura X430. 90% came from stuff I have been saving. Haven't got to run it yet so don't know how it handles or how fast it will be, all I need is a nice day to go try it out. I have attached a few pics (I think I did ! ) . its not the greatest but its my first one and now I'm hooked, I have a shovel nose hydro and one of Ned Schmidt's turtles to build next. only problem is which one first!! and to all the guys I bugged for info --- THANKS, I couldn't have done it without your help.
