I purchased this GTM Shovel Nose hydro from Fastelectrics. It came as a package deal with a Kontronic Rondo 400/7.2v combo. After being inspired by the various reference articles on the MICRO HYDROS site I decided to build the boat and run it with (8) Pro-match 1100nimh 2/3cells. The 2 piece vac-formed hull was easy to assemble. I chose to use a traditional straight shaft (2mm dia) setup slightly offset to the right to aid in turning. All hardware was made from scratch. The prop started as an x431 then was cut down per Miha Holcs's prop mod article to 28mm dia. The boat uses a Novak Polaris micro rx to control the Rondo esc along with an FMA 100 micro servo turning the rudder. So far I'm very pleased with the speed and performance of this setup. It's probably just as fast as most good N1 setups and gets an astonishing 8 minutes of runtime.
