Notes
Hi Trent,
I'm Jerome Degand (22 years old), a French boat driver and I'm
building electric and Fast electric boats since about 15 years.
I discover your website 6 months ago and I built my first mini
mono. Here are some pictures of this one, that I called "Climax",
why not? (English name sound good in France.)
My boat has been done with fibreglass and the hull is pretty thin.
It is powered by a speed 400 4.8V under 6 cells (yes only 6 cells
because the race are restricted to 6 cells in the category I'm
running (and also a 15 amps fuse, funny no?) (we are running a
M for 4 mins), so we have to find good compromise between Stability,
power and handling!)
I use 6 RC-2/3 SC, these have the same specifications than cp1300.
My mono is under 500g, rudder is all aluminium (hand made), and
there is just the shaft that is done with a 2mm piano wire. I
made my own motor cooling ring with rubber, Cola can and flux
ring, this allow a really good cooling and this is lightweight!
Prop is a 29mm K series from Graupner. Boat is really fast but
still need more stability to run a M (but should be really good
for oval racing!) I'm using a 9gr micro servo, M'troniks prodigy
ESC (from my car) and micro Novak receiver.
Summary:
Hull : Own Design
Motor : Speed 400 Race 4.8V
Speed Control : M'troniks prodigy

Hardware : 2mm straight shaft with Teflon and a self made aluminium
rudder
Prop : 29mm (next test at31mm)
Hull Length : 35cm
Hull Width : 13cm
Weight : Under 500g
Speed : Fast (will be soon measured)
I also send you some pictures of my next micro eco that I'm drawing
for a friend. - see below - (I took
the idea from Jag's of Joerg). If someone as any suggestion concerning
by boats please e-mail me at: jdegand@free.fr (I'll soon send
you more pictures of my mono with a second step)
