Notes
The Mono was built by Andrew Floyd. It is a cut down BBY War
Zone Jr. approximately 10 1/2" long. It uses modified BBY hardware,
a 6 volt Speed 400 motor with water cooling. The esc is by wattage.
The mono sports a custom built wing, Andrews tribute to the movie
"The Fast and The Furious." It has a fading (light to dark) metallic
blue paint job with florescent yellow stripes.
An e-mail From Randy Naylor - "Last night the first BBY Micro
Mono was tested. We were a little late about 8:30 PM the light was
not the greatest. A fellow club member Andrew Floyd was the test
builder and driver. Sense the light was going away we rushed to
get it in the water and used the first test prop and threw the boat
to get on plane, It was a little loose. We brought it in and adjusted
the trims down a little them put it back in to the water with a
little toss, it flew away. Andrew and I looked at each other and
started laughing. we could not believe how fast the 400 motor was
pushing that little boat. So Andrew and I decided to see how long
it would run sense it was so stable. After a long time (about 10
Minutes) I persuaded Andrew to bring it in to see if it was hot.
I pulled it from the water and check it no problem and threw it
back for another 5 or 6 minutes. On the way back to the shop, both
of could not believe what a rocket the boat was. So I decided to
call the boat the "Little Rocket." Hear is some pictures of the
boat, and we will do more test this week end at the club" |
